Hi, I was just describing such an app about 2.5 months ago with some friends. And voila... U guys came up with it. Awesome. One thing is missing though for me. I.e. play along with songs in the background. Looping a certain part of a song so that the musician can keep practicing an attack, lead line, etc over and over again. Looping can define the start and end time of the section of song he/ she wants to play along too.

Thanks.

Would really appreciate a paste feature so we can copy and paste our existing songs already in our cheat sheets.. Of course importing text or word doc files would be good.

    Hey Paul

Making it easier to enter charts by importing text files is something I'm hoping to push out with the 1.1.1 update. I'm also hoping to implement other features that make entering charts easier and less time consuming. Never-the-less, you can paste text into the chart editing/creation screen, so in the mean time, hopefully that will help you speed things up :)

As for the looping mechanism; fantastic idea! I'll definitely add it to the roadmap. I do have to preface that by mentioning that right now the focus is on making it the best at what it does: storing, managing and displaying chord charts, so it might be a while before you see this feature implemented.

    Thanks for using Progressions!

I'm looking for the "paste" option.. i don't seem to get one..
If i press for sometime on the screen.. only the magnifying glass appears.. but no option to paste./copy etc..

You should only need to tap the box anywhere below the "Key" cell, and a little Paste bubble will appear.

Could you get me a screenshot of what you're seeing? It'll help me get a better idea of what you're doing. If you're not already aware, you can capture the screen by pressing the home and lock buttons simultaneously, and then fetch the image the same way you would a photo.

If i double tap any of the word of the chords, it will show me that portion of the text being selected, but still no option for cut, copy or paste

Thanks for that! It's very weird. I will take a look at it and see what I can do.

In the meantime, try restarting Progressions completely (by first quitting it from the multitasking bar). I can't really guarantee it will work, but sometimes a boot in the pants helps. Rebooting your device might also help (if it's a system issue, which it very well could be).

The 1.1.1 update is due before the end of the year, and will have a few bug fixes plus a couple of features that missed the launch date (like importing text files).
